Description

Type 140 is a dynamic, balanced mechanical seal. The externally mounted mechanical seal is particularly useful when there is limited space in the seal box and has the advantage of no metal contact with the environment. Type 140 is an economical mechanical seal designed for use in aggressive environments.

Type 140:

• Externally mounted
• Stainless steel-reinforced carbon face
• Retaining ring is locked to the shaft (requires a positive retention/support system above 10 bar)
• No set screw
• No metal parts in contact with the environment
• Springs outside the environment
• Hastelloy C springs.
